Status up to this point.

Yesterday I filmed a new opening sequence. I could not do additional photography on the other scenes, as facial hair would mess with continuity, but I am working on cutting those short. I used this website, provided by Phil, to look as though hacking was being done.

As well, I picked some song tracks that I will put into the film when I am more confident with the picture and sound.

I chose tracks from the same film to achieve a cohesive feel. I liked Tinker Tailor's score as it is subtle and mysterious, both traits I was looking for in a soundtrack.

New Idea

Ok, so this is pretty much the same idea, but simplified to its most basic roots and themes. The film is about Roger, an industrial spy who intentionally had a coworker arrested out of fear that people would die from his actions. He has one more mission to make up for it, but suspects that his bosses plan on  having him killed.
This is where the action starts, as Roger's new partner Nick stops by and they discuss the mission at hand, both knowing what this meeting is really about.
The film will take place in one sequence as they both discuss their mission, never truly saying what they are thinking. In the end, Roger one ups Nick by playing his hand, and revealing what he knows. This allows Roger to gain the upper hand from Nick's surprise and bring him down, without killing him.
The film ends with Roger standing at a waterfront, deciding what his next move is.

Inspiration for change of sequence

This scene was my inspiration for how to simplify the story for my film. It still achieves the tension, but does so simply, and in a way that is easy to understand.

George Smiley is the main inspiration for the lead character of the film. Somebody who is calm and observant, and uses intelligence to get out of a scrape.
